The Challenge

Cambridge University Press hosted the Global Schools Festival, an international online event exploring the future of teaching and learning. While they had a strong static identity in place featuring vibrant patterns and shapes for different subject areas, they needed motion design to bring it to life across their media assets. The challenge was taking their existing brand stylescape and translating static vector artwork into cohesive, fluid motion assets that would feel lively without distracting from speakers during sessions.

The Solution

I converted their static visual system into a flexible motion design toolkit for the festival’s video content, social campaigns, and live webinar streams.

  • Logo Idents: Designed and animated energetic intro and outro sequences to give video content a polished, branded frame.

  • Looping Backgrounds: Created seamless, subtle animated pattern loops based on their subject shapes to sit behind talking-head presenter footage.

  • Custom Transitions: Crafted branded video transitions built across standard landscape (16:9), square (1:1), and portrait (9:16) formats to ensure smooth scene cuts on any screen size.

  • Brand Continuity: Maintained full alignment with their established brand guidelines while adding rhythm, texture, and movement to their visual language.

Key Outcomes

  • Delivered a modular motion toolkit that gave all festival video content a consistent, professional finish.

  • Successfully translated complex static brand patterns into functional, unobtrusive video backgrounds.

  • Built versatile transition and motion assets tailored for seamless use across webinars, social feeds, and vertical video channels.
